Are you looking for an innovative and collaborative learning environment for your child? East Shoreline Catholic Academy (ESCA) is a dynamic PreK3 to Grade 8 STREAM model school, preparing individual students to be our future leaders rooted in faith, service, and academic excellence. In 2018 East Shoreline Academy became the successor school of Our Lady of Mercy School in Madison (founded in 1954) and Saint Mary School (founded in 1961) in Branford and is supported by three parishes (St. Margaret, Madison, St. George, Guilford and St. John Bosco, Branford). Accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC), ESCA employs a progressive STREAM educational model endorsed by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). STREAM connects every content area and richly augments all learning experiences by incorporating technology and engineering into a traditional curriculum. The STREAM curriculum includes Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts (Fine Arts, Language Arts), and Mathematics. Interdisciplinary instruction and project-based applications of learned concepts will help children acquire leadership skills while preparing them for success in those careers most in-demand in the twenty-first century. Our teachers employ a “growth mindset” in their classrooms, and each student’s unique gifts are celebrated and are encouraged to reach their full potential. This growth mindset approach to learning encourages creative thinking, and collaboration. In addition to our innovative and collaborative learning environment, we extend this to our extracurricular and before care and aftercare programs (7 am to 6 pm). ESCA offers many extracurricular activities, including band, chess, choir, fife & drum, guitar, mock trial, robotics, sports, and theater. We provide all-day Pre-K and part-time options for PreK3, special education services, and regional busing. All faiths are welcome!
