SHORELINE MEN OVER SIXTY WILL MEET FRIDAY 
“Distinguished Speaker Series”
The Shoreline Men Over Sixty will meet Friday, February 6, 2015, in the First Congregational Church of Madison on the Madison Green. All gentlemen from Essex to East Haven over the age of sixty are invited to join us.
The meeting will begin at 12 Noon with a lunch of Stuffed Sole with rice pilaf, vegetable, rolls and cake. Following the meal, Monty Mitchell, a Yale graduate and Architect, AIA, will present the topic: Adaptive reuse and the restoration of historic structures.

The Friends of Hammonasset Presents the 2015 Bauer Series

The Friends of Hammonasset presents the annual Bauer Series with host St. Andrew’s Church at 10:00am on the first 2 Saturdays in February at St. Andrew’s Church located at 232 Durham Rd. (Rt. 79) in Madison.  The 3rd program on Saturday, Feb 21st, at 1PM,  is a guided nature/archaeology hike beginning at the MeigsPointNatureCenter at HammonassetBeachState Park. This popular educational series is generously sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank.

Feb. 7th      Live Raptor Show at 10:00am Presented by Todd Secki and Christine Cummings-Secki and staff from A Place Called Hope-a bird rescue and rehabilitation facility in Killingworth, CT.

Feb.14th     Live Reptile show at 10:00am  Presented by Russ Miller, Director of Meigs Point Nature Center.

Feb. 21st   Nature/Archaeology Hike  at 1PM  from Meigs Point Nature Center  led by Gary Nolf and Don Rankin, representing Friends of the Office of State Archaeology and Friends of Hammonasset. Hopefully we can spot some seals sunning themselves off Meigs Point.  Archaeology exhibits will be available in the NatureCenter from 11AM to 3pm; folks can bring their own artifacts for interpretation.  The atlatl will be demonstrated. Folks participate at their own risk and should dress for wintry conditions.

These informative and entertaining programs are suitable for folks of all ages. Light refreshments will be available following all presentations.  No pets allowed on the hike.

The Friends of Hammonasset is a 501©3 environmental organization dedicated to providing environmental education and preserving natural resources. It operates in conjunction with Hammonasset Beach State Park, the flagship of Connecticut State Parks.

The Vista Arts Center presents…
…Like you’ve never seen it before!
Vista Arts Center, in partnership with the Ivoryton Playhouse, will present a musical retelling of L. Frank Baum’s classic story by an ensemble of performers from the shoreline community. This project aims at uniting the shoreline community through theatre by producing a fully inclusive creative experience that will foster friendships and open communication for participants of all ages and all abilities.
